Penalties
Financial penalty rules — such as no-show fees or overdue-balance charges — defined alongside the rest of the rule engine.
What it is
Penalties are financial rules that apply a charge in response to a member’s behaviour rather than a flight itself — for example a no-show fee when a reservation goes unused, or an overdue-balance charge when an account stays unpaid. They give the club a consistent, automatic way to enforce its policies instead of chasing individual cases by hand.
Defining penalties as rules keeps them transparent and even-handed: the same conditions apply to everyone, the resulting charges are auditable, and the policy lives in one place where it can be reviewed and adjusted. This removes the friction and awkwardness of applying fees ad hoc and makes the club’s expectations clear to all members.

How to use it
- Create a penalty — define a new penalty rule at
/penalties/new. - Open a penalty — review or edit an existing rule at
/penalties/[id]. - Cover common cases — set up no-show fees and overdue-balance charges to enforce club policy.
- Keep it fair — rely on consistent conditions so the same rule applies to every member.
